Aerial machines without aerostats; planes, arrangement and construction of; land wheels and skids; steering.- An aerial machine comprises a frame carrying planes h, i, above which are arranged two arched planes f having adjustable front portions. Two gun platforms t, u, arranged as shown, a pair of tail skids d, and wheel-chasses b which can be raised to permit the substitution of floats also being provided. The planes f are supported upon the lateral frames carrying the planes h, i by struts n, o, p, the lower ends of the struts n having racks engaging pinions q on a transverse shaft r geared to a control post s. Shock of landing, deadening.-The skids d are pivoted as shown and connected to springs m. Propelling.-Two propellers e are arranged as shown, or a single central prcpeller may be used.
