Abstract

1,139,835. Stoppers. REXALL DRUG & CHEMICAL CO. 13 April, 1966 [16 April, 1965], No. 16228/66. Heading B8T. [Also in Division E2] A stopper 23 for a spout 21 in the top 11 of a plastics container is formed with an integral strap 33 having at its end a cross-pin 34 with flanges (35), Fig. 7 (not shown), spaced inwards from its ends (36), which act as pivots, being forced through gaps (27), Fig. 9a (not shown), into cylindrical apertures (25) in plastics lugs 24 moulded integrally with the container top. The gaps (27) are formed at the top of the lugs 24. In a modification, Fig. 10a (not shown), gaps (47) are instead formed in the sides of lugs (44), facing away from the spout 21. The strap 33 is flexible. The stopper 23 is formed with a peripheral ring-shaped groove (30, 31), Fig. 8 (not shown), which receives the edge of the spout 21.
