Abstract

1,139,546. Digital current measurement. VARTA A.G. 1 March, 1967 [2 March, 1966], No. 9774/67. Heading G4H. [Also in Divisions G1 and H3] The current supplied to an accumulator 1 during charging is measured by forming at the base B1 of a double base diode 6 a train of pulses having a frequency proportional to the voltage across a resistance 32 in the accumulator circuit and then counting the pulses in a measuring relay 8. The pulses are formed by alternately charging a capacitor 5 through a transistor 4 and discharging it through the double base diode and a resistance 7. An identical circuit including a double base diode 6<SP>1</SP> is used to measure the current delivered by the accumulator and in modifications the transistor 4 is replaced by either a field-effect transistor or a differential amplifier.
