Abstract

1,138,454. Transverse-flow blowers. K. ZENKNER. April 7, 1966 [Sept. 23, 1965], No.15484/66. Heading F1C. [Also in Division F4] A transverse blower for supplying air to a burner and having a steep characteristic curve has a guiding wall 10, a rotor 13, a guide wall 11 and a deflector 12 possessing two shanks 12a, 12b forming an acute angle so that the shank 12b on the suction side forms with the rotor 13 a slot 16 which widens in the direction of rotation. The deflector 12 is adjustable about an axis 25. In modification the deflector can be moved parallel to the rotor axis. The air throughput can be controlled by moving a cover plate 41 of the blower housing, the plate having a circular groove into which the rotor projects.
