Abstract
1,137,613. Working at specified temperatures. DOW CHEMICAL CO. 26 Sept., 1967 [29 Sept., 1966], No. 43759/67. Heading B3V. [Also in Division C7] An extruded article is made from a magnesium base alloy comprising: with the balance, apart from impurities, being magnesium and with a ratio of Zn/Si of at least 1À667. In examples the alloy is scalped, preheated to 495 C., extruded from a preheated ram extrusion press at 480 C. and at a speed of about 100 feet./min., and extrusion speeds of 50-100 feet./min. are said to be possible.
