Abstract

1,227,255. Extruding. DOW CHEMICAL CO. 9 Sept., 1968 [11 Sept., 1967], No. 42843/68. Heading B3P. [Also in Division C7] An alloy consisting, by weight, of Al 1À9-3À5% Mn 0À2-1À5% Zn 0-0À6% Mg and impurities-balance, is extruded at over 40 feet per minute without deleterious effect on mechanical properties. The examples give speeds up to 100 f.p.m. and extrusion temperatures ranging from 700- 900‹ F.
