Abstract
1415168 Al alloy magnet foil SOUTHWIRE CO 13 Nov 1972 [11 Nov 1971] 52354/72 Addition to 1263495 Heading C7A An aluminium alloy magnet foil has a conductivity of at least 61% IACS, an elongation of at least 15% and a tensile strength of at least 12,000 p.s.i. and is made of an alloy consisting of:- to which has been added 0.3-0.95% of Fe to produce finely divided evenly distributed FeAl 3 inclusions. Many examples of suitable insulation coatings are listed. The alloy may be hot worked, cold worked to foil and annealed at 450-1200‹F.
