Abstract

1,137,395. Display cases. MECCANO Ltd. 3 June, 1966 [4 June, 1965; 6 April, 1966], Nos. 24035/65 and 15412/66. Heading B8P. [Also in Division A4] A base 10, Fig. 1, for mounting articles such as model vehicles is provided with a plurality of bosses 13 terminating in a slotted spigot 14, Fig. 4, which enters a hole in the article, the whole assembly being covered by a tightlyfitting shell 12 having at least one transparent side. As described, the base 10 comprises a plastics box-like member having an open underside and upwardly tapered sides 11. The spigot 14 is slotted along one half diameter at 15 from a central hole and in a preferred embodiment is undercut and engages a socket 17 integrally moulded with the base plate 18 of the model vehicle. The internal wall 19 of the socket 17 is tapered and is provided with chamfered projections 21 at the bottom of the socket to enable the spigot 14 to be held firmly in position.
