Abstract
1,137,347. Drives for conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. 24 Oct., 1966 [2 Dec., 1965], No. 47547/66. Heading B8A. [Also in Divisions El and F2] In an hydraulic drive having an hydraulic motor 3a driven by hydraulic fluid supplied through a line 5 or 5a by a reversible pump and exhausting to the line 5a or 5 not pressurized, a conduit 6 short-circuiting the lines 5, 5a and containing oppositely facing non-return valves 7, 7a is provided, the non-return valves being selectively independently operable to enable fluid to flow between the lines in the event of the motor acting as a pump due to the inertia of the load driven thereby. As shown, the pump 3a drives a roller 2a for a conveyer 1 passing over a second roller 2b driven by a system identical to that driving the roller 2a. The selection of the non-return valve to be opened is determined by the direction of the pump. The valves are opened by hydraulic fluid supplied through an electrically or hydraulically operated changeover valve 9.
