Abstract

1,131,750. Hydrostatic transmissions. LINDE A.G. 20 Oct., 1966 [21 Oct., 1965], No. 46954/66. Headings F2C and F2D. Each track 37 of a vehicle is driven by a pair of parallel connected hydraulic motors 29, 30, motor 29 being of the constant displacement type and motor 30 having its displacement varied by a servo 31 subject to the pressure in a supply line 13. One or more variable displacement pumps 4 supply liquid to the line 13, thence through a reversing valve 20 to interchangeable supply and exhaust lines 22, 23 having branches 27, 28 leading to both pairs of motors, both pairs of branches having reversing valves 26 therein which are operable independently for steering the vehicle. As shown, two pumps 4 supply the hydraulic pressure, valves 9, 12 between the respective pumps and the common supply line 13 being operable to connect the associated pumps selectively to the line 13 or to a line 17 or 14 leading to actuators operating ancillary equipment.
