Abstract

1376063 Valves HYDRAULIC INDUSTRIES Inc 21 Jan 1972 [20 May 1971] 3034/72 Heading F2V A control valve 8 for an hydraulic motor has a pressure-reducing valve 29 to limit the rate at which fluid can be exhausted from the motor through passages 32, 31. The load is thus prevented from driving the motor at a faster rate than desired. In the preferred embodiment, the valve spool 8 connects one of a pair of passages 9, 10 to a high-pressure supply passage 11 while the other is connected to an exhaust passage 12 or 13. Two pressure-reducing valves 29 are provided, the valve in the exhaust line being operated against a spring 34 by fluid pressure applied through passages 37, 36 while the other valve 29 is forced to the fully open position by supply pressure applied through passages 17, 40, 42. When the spool 8 is in neutral the latter passages are connected to exhaust through a further passage 44.
