Abstract

1,137,244. Load-handling pallet frameworks. E. NOBEL. 11 Sept., 1967, No. 41416/67. Heading B8H. A framework for a pallet (not shown), comprises two parallel frames 1 each with two horizontal angle irons 3 and two uprights 2. The uprights 2 are of U-section with bent over edges providing a gap 7. The frames 1 are permanently connected by bar crosses consisting of two bars 8, 9 pivotally connected by a central pin 10, with ends pivotally and slidably mounted in the uprights 2, their movement limited by stops 11. In the erected position lower fittings 4 embrace the corners of the pallet, upper fittings 4 being able to receive a further pallet (not shown). In a modification (not shown) only the top ends of the bars 8, 9 may slide and bar 8 in one cross and bar 9 in the other cross omitted. Figs. 2, 3 (not shown), illustrate methods of retaining the ends of the bars 8, 9 in the uprights 2. In the former case the end (12) of each bar 8, 9 is twisted 90 degrees. In the latter case the upright 2 has a longitudinal recess (14) for receiving the end (15) of the bar end (15) which has an aperture for a peg (13).
