Abstract

1,137,223. Sliding clasp fasteners. WILLIAM PRYM - WERKE K.G. 17 May, 1966 [3 June, 1965], No. 21822/66. Heading E2S. In a sliding clasp fastener comprising fastener elements 18 sewn to stringer tapes 12, the fastener elements comprise limbs 19, 20 which adjoin coupling faces 15 of the elements and are superposed transversely to the plane of the tapes, each tape 12 including a fold 13 which covers the respective elements and the sewing comprising a stitch 22 for each fastener element, which stitch is adjacent a coupling face 15 and engages only that of the superposed limbs which lies against a respective tape. As shown, the sewing includes additional stitches 23, 24, 25 and the fastener elements are formed by sections of continuous plastics wire which in the construction, Figs. 2-5 (not shown) is sewn to the tape adjacent one edge thereof prior to bending the wire to form the superposed limbs and folding the tape to produce the fold 13.
