Abstract

A lighting system for a vehicle comprises a forwardly facing lamp 10, such as a fog lamp, and a number-say tworearwardly facing lamps 11, 12, such as tail lamps, interconnected by a variable resistor 19, 20, 21 the intermediate points of which are connected to a selector switch 27 and thence to the supply source 28 of the vehicle. The brilliancies of the lamp 10 and the lamps 11, 12 are varied in a differential manner by movement of the selector switch 27 over the contacts 24, 22, 23, 25. and vice versa. The resistor may alternatively be a continuously wound type with the switch 27 forming a sliding contact thereon.
