Abstract

1,161,302. Vehicle warning lights. E. E. JACKSON. 10 May, 1968 [13 May, 1967], No. 22298/67. Heading G4Q. A warning light system providing flashing " flare " lights when the vehicle is stationary and supplementary rear lights in, e.g. foggy conditions comprises a " two-way and off" switch 3 connecting the battery (from lead 5) to either the input or output of a " flasherunit " 2, the output also being connected through a dimming resistor 11 to the brake lights and brake switch 12. The resistor 11 is arranged to reduce the combined power of the two brake lights from 42 to 36 watts when used as warning lights so that a brake application (in foggy weather) increases the lights to full power. A pilot light 4 is connected across the output circuit.
