1,060,482. Lamp failure warning devices. A. H. CUDDON-FLETCHER. Sept. 13, 1963 [June 14, 1962], No. 22995/62. Heading G4N. A vehicle lamp failure device comprises a thermally actuated element which gives an indication that one of a number of parallel connected lamps has failed. As described, a heating element 11 is connected in parallel with a lamp 2 in series with the circuit to the side and tail lamps of a vehicle. When all lamps are lit the bimetallic strip 6 moves arm 9 to obscure the lamp 2. Failure of a bulb moves the arm 9 to expose lamp 2.
