Abstract

113,660. Chillington Tool Co., and Nettleton, L. March 1, 1917. Mixing-valves; multiple-way plug cocks.-An air and gas mixing-cock comprises a tapered plug B formed with an elbow pipe b<2> which communicates at its inner end with one of the openings through the wall of the plug and at its other or terminal end is co-axial with the plug. A cap C with an opening c is shown screwed on to the nozzle end of the pipe b<2>; and by using caps with openings of different sizes the proportions of air and gas may be varied. A ring D screwed into the outer end of the casing A forces packing-material d<1> against a shoulder of the plug B and maintains a gas-tight joint. The interior of the junction between the larger portion of the casing A and the reduced extension a is; bell-mouthed.
