Abstract
1,136,166. Moulding balls. HOLLEY PLASTICS CO. 22 Feb., 1966 [23 Feb., 1965], No. 7821/66. Heading B5A. [Also in Division C3] Balls e.g. golf balls are made by moulding a mixture of one hundred parts by wt. of a urethane prepolymer and three to twelve parts by wt. of a curing agent. The mixture may be cured at room temperature or at an elevated temperature, the final part of the curing in the latter case being effected outside the mould. Alternatively both the prepolymer and the curing agent may be preheated before mixing. The mixture may be compression moulded, rotationally cast, centrifugally cast, vacuum cast, injection moulded or transfer moulded, to give hollow or solid balls, the component materials preferably being de-gassed before use.
