Abstract

1,135,999. Garments. AMPHENOL CORP. 20 Oct., 1967 [20 Oct., 1966], No. 47926/67. Heading A3V. [Also in Division D1] A pile fabric formed by incorporating tufts of fibres in a knitted-base fabric so that they protrude thereform has the base fabric formed from a continuous filament triacetate yarn. The fabric is intended for use with a permanent press article which is subject to a finishing treatment the nature of the pile fabric being such that it is little affected by such finishing treatment. The pile fabric may be formed as a collar for a winter coat or jacket in which the body portion is woven from yarns containing a blend of polyester and cotton fibre and impregnated with a thermosetting resin. Thus a pile fabric having a weight of from 10 to 22 ounces per square yard has a total shrinkage of less than 5% after a heat treatment at 340‹F. for 18 minutes followed by five cycles of washing and drying. U.S.A. Specification 1,710,525 is referred to.
