Abstract

1,134,187. Blending fibres. CARDING SPECIALISTS (CANADA) Ltd. 12 Sept., 1966 [31 Aug., 1965], No. 37177/65. Headings D1F and DIN. A method of mixing and blending textile fibres comprises submitting at least two different feeds of fibres 3,4 to separate carding means 1, 2 to produce separate webs 7, 8 and delivering the separate webs to common carding means 20 to mix and blend the fibres. As shown the separate webs may be fed to separate taker-in rollers 17, 18 but alternatively they may be fed to a single taker-in. Pressure rollers 12, 13 before and 25, 26 after the common carding device may be provided. Between doffers 9 and cylinder 19 and between doffer 22 and calender rollers 27 the rollers may be driven to draft the fibres.
