Abstract

1,133,759. Load handling pallets. FIBERS Inc. 7 Nov., 1967, No. 50620/67. Heading B8H. [Also in Division B5] Figs. 1, 2 illustrate a pallet made of moulded fibre (see Divisions B4-B5) comprising a rectangular deck having a continuous marginal stiffening inverted channel 22 forming the perimeter thereof. Corner-supporting and edgesupporting hollow pedestals 20, 24 are formed integral with the deck and are located inwardly adjacent to the marginal channel 22, being arranged to provide fork-receiving channels to receive tines 30, 30 of a fork-lift truck. As shown two pairs of channels at right angles are provided. The pallet has a central hollow pedestal 10 formed integral with the deck and a series of continuous rectangular corrugations 14, 16, 18 formed in the deck at increasing distances from the central pedestal 10. In a modification, shown in Fig. 7, the extreme outer edge of the pallet is defined by a channelshaped flange 23 around the marginal inverted channel 22 instead of the flat flange shown in Figs. 1, 2. The pallets may be stacked in nested relationship.
