Abstract

1,133,667. Attracted armature relays. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. 2 March, 1966 [6 March, 1965], No. 9240/66. Heading H1N. In a relay electromagnet having core 2a and armature 3 operating springset 5, the armature is provided with a resilient and/or resiliently mounted residual member 4 comprising a spring plate having a longer leg riveted to the armature and a shorter obtuse angled leg located in the airgap; the effect being on energization to increase loading and minimize impact and on de-energization to shorten release time and enable release movement to be controlled by the collapsing magnetic field of the relay; whereby rebound on operation or release is minimized. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) two adjacent residual members are mounted, one with the obtuse angle facing the core and the other with it facing the armature with the corresponding shorter legs in contact. The residual members may be of magnetic material.
