Abstract
1,133,415. Rocket combustion chambers. BÍLKOW G.m.b.H. Aug. 7, 1967 [Aug. 12, 1966], No.36079/67. Headings F1J and F1L. In a rocket combustion chamber having an internal wall with cooling channels extending longitudinally on its external surface and with an external wall covering the cooling channels, the external wall being formed by a continuously wound wire with adjacent turns connected to each other and to the internal wall, the cross-section of the wire is such that the turns are positively connected to each other in the longitudinal direction of the combustion chamber. The cross-section of the wire may be of the double-hook form shown in Fig. 7, providing an interlocking engagement between adjacent turns of the winding. In addition, the turns are connected together by adhesive or by soldering, welding or the like. As shown, the turns may form continuous upper and lower surfaces 8, 9. Instead of being oblique as shown, the central part 13 and the two free ends 12 of the wire cross-section may be upright. Instead of being rounded as shown, the free ends 12 may be rectangular or trapezoidal. An S-shaped crosssection may be used. There may be several layers of wire, which may be of different materials.
