Abstract

1,133,301. Cam-plate pumps and motors. APPLIED POWER INDUSTRIES Inc. Jan. 4, 1967 [Aug. 29, 1966], No. 482/67. Heading F1A. In a cam-plate pump or motor sleeves 53, providing communication between the cylinder bores 20 and valve plate ports 55, are biased against the valve plate 50 and the cylinder block 18 is biased towards the cam-plate 34 by resilient annular biasing members 57. Slippers 28 constructed of a soft material, e.g. brass or bronze, are held in engagement with the cam-face by a steel retaining ring 31 which engages the slippers through plastics inserts 33 mounted in grooved openings in the ring. The retaining ring 31 is held in engagement with the slippers 28 by means of an arcuate lug 48 on the pump housing 10 and the frusto-conical end surface 47 of the cylinder block 18.
