Abstract

1,133,000. Laminates. NATIONAL STARCH & CHEMICAL CORP. 6 April, 1966 [23 April, 1965], No. 15433/66. Heading B5N. [Also in Division C3] Laminates are prepared by bonding at least two laminµ with a dried adhesive film from an aqueous adhesive composition capable of yielding dry films which are characterized by their optimum water resistance, comprising a mixture of (a) 2,4,6-trimethylol phenol; (b) an aqueous emulsion of a vinyl acetate polymer; and (c) an acidic, metal salt selected from chromic nitrate, aluminium chloride, aluminium nitrate and chromic perchlorate. In the examples, wood, plastic and metal surfaces are bonded, including plywood veneers.
