Abstract

A heat-sensitive stencil sheet comprises a porous support sheet capable of passing ink or other liquid image-forming medium, the said support sheet being impregnated with an inkimpervious layer of a composition comprising a plasticized eutectic mixture of thermoplastic resins and a sublimable compound. The sublimable compound may be anthranilic or salicylic acid whilst the remainder of the composition may comprise a cellulose ester, a vinyl resin and one or more plasticizers therefor, the ratio of the ester to the resin being such as to form the eutectic mixture. The composition may alternatively comprise (a) cellulosic acetate/butyrate and/or cellulose acetate/propionate and (b) a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer or (a) cellulose/butyrate and (b) vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate.
