Axial-flow type; blades, &c.-In a multi-stage turbine having a guide-channel 7 of S-shaped median section between the stages 1, 2, 3 and the stages 4, 5, 6 so as to direct the working fluid from one wheel to another of considerably different diameter, eddies in the channel 7 are reduced by subdividing it by one or more guidewalls 8. In Fig. 2 the channel 12 is shown rubdivided by walls 13, 14 extending along only part of its length.
