[Also in Division B1] Printable material in sheet or web form is coated with a composition containing a watersoluble drying catalyst for oil-based or oilderivative based inks and an insoluble inorganic filler. The sheets or webs may be made of paper, cardboard, paper board or other fibrous material, metallic foil or synthetic resins. The sheet or web is preferably coated with a composition which includes the catalyst in 0À1 to 10% proportions by weight, the other components being, e.g. a surface active agent, a dispersant, such as glyonal and a synthetic resin latex as a binder, the composition being applied in a quantity of 0À1 to 10 grams per square metre of coated surface. The catalyst may be any suitable drying agent, especially a heavy metal, water soluble salt, e.g. theacetate, sulphate, nitrate or borate or cobalt, manganese, zirconium, vanadium or cerium.
