Abstract

1,129,480. Crates. FISHOLOW PRODUCTS Ltd. 19 Jan., 1966 [22 Dec., 1964], No. 52031/64. Heading B8P. A bottle crate has locating lugs 41 extending upwardly from each corner of an upper rim 16 of the crate, the lugs engaging recesses 43 at each corner of the base of another crate when the crates are stacked. The lugs 41 are tapered to fit snugly between the converging walls 44, 45 of the recesses 43 and the surface of an outwardly projecting lip 23 formed at the base of the crate rests on the rim 16 of a lower stacked crate. The crates, which are injection moulded from high density polyethylene or other thermoplastic materials, have a bottle base supporting lattice 17, 18 and a lattice 19, 20 supporting the bottle sides. Trapezoidal hand holes 30 are formed in the side walls 11, 12 and end walls 13, 14. The openings between the supporting lattices allow easy cleaning of the crate and holes 28 in the crate walls allow ventilation. Ribs 26, 27 and 36-39 strengthen the crate.
