[Also in Divisions B2 and D1] A bias binding for the edges of inner soles 10 of platform shoes comprises a cloth tape 11 treated so as to deposit a median plastics layers 13 thereon and leave the marginal edges uncoated by moving the tape in succession past a device for deposing plastisol on a selected median portion along the tape, a heating zone to dry and solidify the plastisol, and then past means for pressing the tape, while it is still warm, against a surface selected so as to impart a desired surface finish to the coalesced solidified plastics layer.
