Abstract

704,142. Burnishing. KOHUT, H. June 12, 1951 [July 4, 1950], No. 16651/50. Class 60 [Also in Group VII] In finishing the trimmed edges of leather surfaces, wax is delivered on to the edge as a burnishing tool is applied thereto. This tool proceeds along the edge where the wax has been spread. In one form of apparatus for burnishing shoe sole edges wax is heated in a lagged container 1 and is fed through a rigid valve-controlled duct 12 to a burnishing tool 11 having a profile shaped in accordance with the sole edge 16. A time switch or thermostat is incorporated in the electric heating circuit of the container 1.
