Abstract

112,829. British Electric Transformer Co., and Berry, F. E. Jan. 31, 1917. Drawings to Specification. Polyphase transformers.-Each phase of a three-phase transformer, or each phase in a group of single-phase transformers, is provided with a winding additional to the primary and secondary windings. The additional windings are mesh connected and carry circulating currents of the periodicities of the higher harmonics of-the primary currents. This prevents the production of harmonics in the primary and secondary windings, and enables a star-connected winding to carry an unbalanced load without the neutral point of the primary being connected back to the neutral point of the current supply.
