Abstract

1,126,337. Multisheave blocks. DRESSER INDUSTRIES Inc. 29 Sept., 1965 [7 Oct., 1964], No. 41390/65. Heading B8B. [Also in Division E1] A multisheave travelling block comprises two spaced parallel sets of sheaves 11 and one sheave 13 transverse thereto, the block being used either with the transverse sheave 13 removed, Fig. 2 (not shown), wherein the axis 19 of the sheaves 11 is aligned with a load hook pivot pin 24, or with the sheave 13 in place, Fig. 1, wherein the parallel sheaves 11 are displaced on the block to align the centreline of support 18 with the pin 24. The cases for the spaced sets of sheaves 11 are each attached to the base 30 of the block by pins 31, 32 which pass through either of two sets of holes in an upward projection on the base 30. The case of the sheave 13 is attached to the base in a similar manner but in one position only. The movement along base 30 of the cases for sheaves 11 is effected by a pinion mounted within each case, rotatable from outside thereof, engageable with a rack mounted on the base.
