Abstract
1,125,702. Moulding wall panels. HIGH SPEED SYSTEM BUILDING Ltd., and L. NAAR. 17 Sept., 1965 [23 June, 1964], No.25936/64. Heading B5A. In a method of casting wall panels of brick and mortar in a horizontal grid, the grid frame 54 is carried by a bogie 55 on rails 11 over a trench 12 and is located in position by a framework upstanding from the trench and including plates 52 located slightly above the grid upper surface. When the mortar has set, a vertically reciprocable horizontal platform 19 with upstanding members 32 is raised so that the members pass through the grid, engage the bricks and lift the panel slightly until it strikes the plates 52, thereby breaking any bonds which may have formed between the panel and grid. After lowering the platform the grid and loosened panel are taken to means whereby the panel is finally removed, e.g. as described in Application 26014/64. The platform is raised and lowered by two pairs of toggle levers 22 pivoted to the platform and to nuts 18 engaging threads on bars 17 carried in blocks 16. Rotation of the bars by an electric motor in one direction or the other causes the nuts to run along the bars either towards or away from their centres to thereby lift or lower the platform. The upper end of each member 32 carries a buffer 44, Fig. 4, (not shown), carried by a tubular part 42 urged upwardly from a fixed part 37 of the member by a spring 49. The grids may be as described in Specification 1,093,192.
