Abstract

1,125,183. Textile treating apparatus. BRADFORD DYERS' ASSOCIATION Ltd. 24 Jan., 1967 [25 Jan., 1966], No. 3339/66. Heading D1L. Apparatus for dyeing fabrics in long lengths comprises a dye bath 5, a steaming chamber 8 in which the fabric is steamed while travelling in loops and means for leading the fabric from the bath 5 upwards therefrom to enter the upper end of the steaming chamber, the dye bath 5 being carried by a support 17 that is vertically adjustable so that the vertical distance between the dye bath and the upper end of the steaming chamber can be adjusted in accordance with the nature of the fabric. Preferably provision is made for rapidly heating the fabric between the dye bath and the steaming chamber e.g. in chamber 7 heated by steam coils 44 and' exhausted by a fan 43 to cause a current therethrough. The dye bath receives dye liquor from a reservoir via a pump and means are provided for controlling the delivery of liquor responsive to the level in the dye bath (Fig. 3, not shown). Further, the level at which the liquor is maintained in the bath can be varied.
