Abstract

1,124,713. Centrifugal strainer. HEIN, LEHMANN & CO. A.G. 2 Feb., 1967 [7 Feb., 1966], No. 5009/67. Heading BID. A centrifugal strainer drum 2 has an annular guide 6 level with its upper edge on to which centrifugally discharged solids are thrown, the guide 6 being resiliently mounted and vibrated by means 11 to keep it clean. Guide 6 is shown supported by a rubber ring 8' of channel section, but may alternatively be supported by steel springs. Vibrator(s) 11 may vibrate guide 6 horizontally and/or vertically and may be mounted on the housing 1 and/or cover 10 (Figs. 2, 3, not shown). Guide 6 may be cylindrical, frusto-conical or arcuate in section (Figs. 4, 5 not shown). The guide may vibrate continually, the amplitude of vibrations being increased at intervals for short periods.
