112,404. Edwards, F. W. E., and Moir, H. J., (trading as Victoria Engineering Co.). Sept. 28, 1917. Cutting tubes &c. of cylindrical form transversely to their length. --- In rotarydisk cutting-machines of the kind in which paper and like material such as are adapted for employment in the manufacture of hollow vessels, the mandrel is constructed with a number of removable collars of soft metal corresponding in posi- :ion with the rotary cutters so as to avoid damage to the cutters and to allow ready renewal of the collars when worn. The mandrel a has mounted thereon collars c of soft metal and sleeves b of hard metal all secured by an end cap w. The rotary cutters e project through a table r and are mounted in a frame j pressed upwards by springs m and capable of being drawn down by a foot pedal attached to a stirrup q. The cutters e are adjustably mounts in the frame by supporting them in brackets f having stems g to receive nuts h and with flat-sided enlargements g<1> which slidably fit slots k in the frame and are engaged by nuts u.
