[Addition to 1916/14.] Cutting tubes of cylindrical form transversely to their length.-In the machine described in the parent Specification for cutting up rubber tubes to form rings or washers, the mandrel-carrying disks a are rotated intermittently so as to have a dwell during the cutting operation and while a fresh mandrel is being inserted. This is effected by a ratchet-wheel c turned by a pawl g on a lever f, which is rocked by a link i and a crank-disk h turned by gearing from the main driving-shaft.
