Abstract

1,123,430. Haymaking machines. HOLANDA N.V. 19 Aug., 1965 [31 May, 1965], No. 35687/65. Heading A1F. A hay-tedder comprises a shaft 2 carrying radially-extending plates 3 each having on its outer edge a plurality of pivoted tines 4 which can swing outwardly under centrifugal force to abut against a stop 6. The tedder is mounted on a rear roller 8 or wheels, which may be height-adjustable, and is provided forwardly with an arcuate hood 9 partly surrounding the rotor. The tines may be spring-loaded to hinge inwardly when the rotor is not revolving and may be lockable in this position for transport. As shown, the shaft 2 is horizontal but a construction wherein the tines rotate about a vertical shaft is also mentioned. The device may also be applied to hay-collection, the plates producing sufficient air-flow to render the hay airborne for delivery into a vehicle.
