Abstract

1,122,343. Dry cleaning. H. GUNTNER. 5Dec., 1966 [3 Dec., 1965], No. 54261/66. Heading DIA. In a dry cleaning machine a cleaning agent is used which evaporates at usual ambient temperatures and pressures so the resulting vapour is compressed, separated out, cooled and then returned to storage tanks or back to the machine. Air and vapour are drawn out through a pipe 64 through a filter 22 and compressor 18 to an air/vapour separating chamber where the air is returned via pipe 42 to the cleaning chamber and the vapour passes through a cooler 32 where it may be cooled by ambient air (due to increased pressure caused by the compressor) and the liquid is then returned to storage tanks 10. Any vapour formed in the storage tank 10 escapes through the tube 56 and is reconverted to liquid. A distilling plant 48 is provided to clean the solvent after use and the air or vapour may be used to produce heating through pipes 52.
