Abstract

Rubber latex and an acid coagulation medium are fed into an extruder from which previously separated serum has been removed, the coagulum is kneaded, the serum is removed from the coagulum by pressing, the coagulum is kneaded with washing water and the washing water is separated from the rubber by a further pressing. The process is applicable to oil- and filler-extended rubbers. The removed serum may be used to dilute the acid coagulant.
