Abstract

A process for hot mixing of light-coloured, wet-precipitated silica fillers with natural or synthetic rubber or rubber-like elastomers is characterized by the filler being used in the form of a rubber-filler masterbatch which has been obtained by wet coagulation of natural or synthetic rubber latex in an aqueous suspension of a silica filler produced from a precipitated silica which, after being precipitated, has been subjected to a treatment with an acid in a pH range from 2 to 4, whereafter the suspension is adjusted to a pH value of 4 to 7.5, then admixed with the latex and the rubber coagulated whereafter the coagulated latex/filler master-batch is dried at a temperature of 100 DEG to 140 DEG C.
