Abstract

1,120,917. Gas filter. STANDARD FILTERBAU-G.m.b.H. 23 Jan., 1967, No. 3263/67. Heading B1T. In a gas filter comprising vertical, openended tubular filter elements, enclosed in a filtrate chamber and whose interiors receive dirty gas from upper chamber 2, the elements are enclosed by cleaning gas delivery nozzles incorporated in a vertically reciprocating frame 5, the frame having long guide tubes 4 sliding on guide rods 1 which are accommodated in tunnels 3, extending into chamber 2, so that the frame can travel right up to the top of the filtrate chamber. Tubes 4 extend upwards from frame 5 and carry rollers or sliding bushes 6 which engage rods 1, which are of quadrangular section. Compressed air is delivered to frame 5 through a bellows 7 or a telescopic tube arrangement, which encloses the cable 12 by which the frame is reciprocated. Bellows 7 has spaced internal wheel-like structures, linked by chains 20 and sliding on cable 12 to limit stretching and lateral movement of the bellows. Telescopic tube 13 surrounds and protects bellows 7, and further air supplied by inlet 14 between the tube and bellows excludes the dust therefrom. If the filter has a downstream extractor, inlet 14 is simply open to atmosphere.
