1,118,960. Reciprocating pumps, motors and compressors. K. EICKMANN. June 9, 1965, No.37237/67. Divided out of 1,118,142. Headings F1A, F1N and F1S. In a radial cylinder hydraulic pump, hydraulic motor, pneumatic motor or air compressor, the rotary cylinder block 1 is provided with a pair of axially spaced groups of cylinders 6, 36 which communicate with respective inlet and outlet ports 16, 17 and 32, 33 in housing end covers 12, 35 through axially extending passages 18, 38. The track ring 8, 9 is mounted for adjustment in guides (10), Fig.2 (not shown). In a further embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown) the cylinder block (1) is mounted for limited tilting movement on a barrel shaped port of the shaft (2) via bearing bushes (52, 53). The inlet and outlet ports (32, 33) of one of the end covers (35) are formed in a member (27) which is biased towards the block (1) by fluid-pressure and spring-biased pistons in chambers (30) in the ported member (27). The ported member (27) may be radially balanced by fluid supplied to recesses in its outer periphery or the surrounding end cover (35).
