[Also in Division B8] A system of vertical cell cargo stowage aboard ship comprises load-carrying pallets 11 constructed strongly enough to be capable of being dropped, together with the loads thereon, into vertical cells aboard ship, abutments provided, either on the pallets themselves (e.g. the detachable posts 13 with caps 17 in Fig. 1) or on the guides or walls of the cells (e.g. the removable stops 16 on the vertical corner guides 15 in Fig. 2), that are operative to space consecutive pallets a predetermined vertical distance from one another to prevent a pallet above from dropping on to a load below, and a lifting spreader for attachment to the four corners of the pallet.
