Abstract
1,116,012. Rail vehicles. SCHWEIZERISCHE LOKOMOTIV-UND MASCHINENFABRIK. 26 July, 1965 [24 July, 1964], No. 31841/65. Heading B7L. , A powered rail vehicle comprises two motor bogies which transmit their tractive forces by draw gear to the vehicle body 7, wherein the draw gear is such that the effective point W<SP>1</SP>, W<SP>11</SP> of action of the tractive force on a bogie (defined by the intersection of the line of action of the tractive force with the line of action of theresultant vertical force supporting the body on the bogie), are at different, heights h<SP>1</SP>, h<SP>11</SP> above the rail 5 for the leading and trailing bogies, the distances h<SP>1</SP>, h<SP>11</SP> being calculated from; the condition that upon travel the axle loading reduction due to the turning moment of the tractive force shall be approximately the same for at least two axles of the. leading bogie and at least one axle of the trailing bogie. In an embodiment, Fig. 1, the bogie frames 6<SP>1</SP>, 6<SP>11</SP> are tractively linked by draw-gear comprising pull reds 8<SP>1</SP> v and 8<SP>11</SP> v during movement in the direction of the arrow, and by rods 8<SP>1</SP> r and 8<SP>11</SP> r during reverse movement, to the body 7. The rods 8 are linked to the body 7 by pins 9, and to the frames 6 by pins 12 extending into clearance eyes 10 of the rods, the pins 12 being connected to the frames 6 via brackets 11. In another embodiment, Fig. 2.(not shown), the rods 8<SP>11</SP>v and 8<SP>11</SP> r are replaced by torsion bars which bear on resilient elements on the bogie frames and the rods 8<SP>1</SP> v , 8<SP>1</SP> r bear on further resilient elements which replace the .eyes.10. In a further embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the vehicle is provided with two three-axle bogies and the tractive means are the same as in Fig. 1. In yet another embodiment, Fig.. 4 (not shown), all the rods 8 are replaced by torsion bars co-operating with clearances with stops. Braking force may be generated by the, motors. The vehicle may have base support.
