Abstract

1,115,675. Bearings. COOPER ROLLER BEARINGS CO. Ltd. 6 Dec., 1966 [7 Dec., 1965], No. 51818/65. Heading F2A. A cross-roller bearing having rollers between inner and outer races, one race having a gap 42 closed by a member 12 which is detachable to allow removal and introduction of rollers. In Fig. 2, plug 42 of circular cross-section is fitted in a bore in the outer race and secured by screws fitting holes 23, 24. The plug has surfaces 27 forming continuations of perpendicular bearing surfaces 21, 22 on the race. Alternatively, plug and bore are of square or rectangular crosssection. In Fig. 7 and 9 (not shown), a recess formed in a radial surface of an outer race is closed by a segment (12a) having a surface (27a) forming a continuation of one bearing surface of the race, the segment being located by dowels (36) in holes (35) in shoulders (34).
