[Also in Division E1] In a mineral-mining installation having a cutting machine 12 guided along a shiftable conveyer 10, the conveyer is, during mining operations, urged against the floor by one or more automatically extensible props 16 that are, in a cycle of mining operations, initially set to extend forwards and upwards of the conveyer towards the face being mined and subsequently, as the conveyer is advanced stepwise towards the face as it is mined by passages of the cutting machine along the conveyer, automatically shorten until vertical when they are released, advanced up to the conveyer, and reset extending forwardly and upwardly again.
