Abstract
A ternary alloy comprises:- .Si.7.9-8.7% .Ti.2.3-3.1% the balance apart from impurities being Ni, the alloying elements being so proportioned that:- (Si - 8.3)2 + (Ti - 2.7)2 \sE 0.16 The ductility of the alloy may be improved by heat-treatment at 1000 DEG -1100 DEG C.
