111,313. Ashcroft, E. A. Oct. 19, 1916. Addition to 108,920. Calcium chloride.-Anhydrous calcium chloride is prepared by treatment of hydrated calcium chloride, calcium oxychloride, calcium oxide, or other calcium bearing material together with a reducing agent such as carbon and a catalyst such as an iron or manganese compound with chlorine while suspended in a mobile fused medium, in the same manner as magnesium chloride is prepared according to the parent case.
